Diagnostic Testing

EKG (Electrocardiogram)

A non-invasive test that records the heart's electrical activity. It is performed to detect potential problems within the heart, such as arrhythmia.

Echocardiogram

A test performed that uses sound waves to capture images of the heart. The images from this test can identify abnormalities of the heart's muscle and valves.

A carotid ultrasound may be used to detect blocked or narrowed carotid arteries, which can indicate a persons risk of stroke.

Stress Testing

Identifies potential blockages in the coronary arteries.  A stress test is used to determine the amount of stress the heart can manage before it develops an abnormal rhythm or evidence that there is not enough blood flow to the muscle of the heart.

Holter and Event Monitoring

Holter and event monitors are used to monitor irregular heart beats.   They record your heart rhythm for 24 to 48 hours.

Tilt Table Testing

A tilt table test assesses the cause of blackout spells by monitoring blood pressure, electrical impulses in the heart, and oxygen level.
